[ARCHIVED] SRWMD 2025 calendar highlights the natural resources and beauty of North Florida

LIVE OAK, FLA., JANUARY 17, 2025 – The 2025 Suwannee River Water Management District (District) Calendar is now available!

Featuring work by local photographers from across the District, the calendar highlights the beauty of our region, from rivers and springs to coastal areas and wildlife. Additionally, each month highlights District efforts and programs, as well as state-recognized natural resource months, such as Springs Protection Awareness Month in April.

“The Suwannee Valley boasts a number of natural features that are not only unique to Florida, but also the nation and world, such as springs, our windows to the Floridan Aquifer,” said Hugh Thomas, executive director of the District. “We hope seeing these photos will encourage our residents and visitors to get out and see some of these amazing locations and discover other areas that weren’t included.”

More than 30 area photographers submitted 100-plus photos to be included in the calendar. District staff evaluated all submissions and found it challenging to only select 12 that best represent our region’s resources.

Each month’s photo will also be highlighted on social media, recognizing the photographers for their efforts in capturing the beauty of our region.

The District encourages area photographers and hobbyists to explore District lands and begin capturing photos for the 2026 calendar. Submissions will be accepted later in the year.

The calendar is free and available for pickup at the District office in Live Oak, while copies are available.
