[ARCHIVED] REMINDER: SRWMD to host meeting to discuss updated flood-risk maps for the Aucilla River Watershed

LIVE OAK, FLA., JULY 26, 2022 – As a reminder to local residents, the Suwannee River Water Management District (District) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will host a discussion tonight for the development of new flood risk maps for the Aucilla River Watershed, which includes parts of Jefferson and Madison counties.

The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. tonight, July 26, at the Greenville Town Hall, 154 SW Old Mission Ave, Greenville, FL 32331.

The District is seeking feedback from residents, along with city and county officials, in the development of these new flood risk maps. The maps are revised periodically to educate and assist property owners with updated and current information on their risk of flooding.

Feedback received during the meeting will be taken into consideration for the development of the preliminary maps, which are expected to be available to review later this year.

For those unable to attend in person, the presentation packages can be found online at https://srwmd.azurewebsites.net/

Additionally, those looking to attend virtually can do so by visiting https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/8553549977704625167 and registering for the meeting.
